460 Broadway

460 Broadway

Description

Arrow B Architecture transformed a dated and empty Family Dollar store on a prominent stretch of Broadway near downtown Denver into a mixed use, multi-tenant development. The drab masonry box was comprised of five types of concrete block in a myriad of patterns and planes.  The greatest challenge proved to be creating new storefronts that incorporated the existing geometry while creating bright, independent entrances for the tenants. The building’s massive scale is broken up by new steel canopies, and multi-colored, stained banding. Classic scale and details were used in an attempt to bring new life to the building while referencing neighboring historic storefronts.
