Description
Historic Preservation Achievement Award from Historic Berkeley-Regis
Arrow B worked with VanWest Partners and Spectrum General Contractors on this big project – the renovation of a venerated auto garage at 38th Ave and Utica. The building has a colorful history – it once housed three large dynamo motors that powered the city’s electric trolleys and later contained a large hall, gymnasium, and even a roller rink. After Merkl’s Automotive took over, the southwest corner was removed and the building was painted the familiar red, white and blue. The design restores historical masonry openings to revive the charm of the building. Check out our kick-off post to learn more about the history of the building.
