Description

Winter Park Station holds a prominent corner as you enter the town of Winter Park from the Ski Resort. Previously it was a simple but drab building tucked into the hillside. Due to its proximity to the new WP Transit Center, the rear entrance of Winter Park Station is prominently viewed by new transit riders and guests of Big Trout Brewing and the adjacent and popular Cooper Creek Square. With future plans to have a resort gondola lift nearby, WP Station will soon have a lot of eyes on it. Our client wanted to update it, but keep the update to a ‘paint only’ approach with a more contemporary color scheme.

We convinced the client that there was an opportunity to change more than just the color. We collaborated with local artist Shannon Foley Henn to us the building as a canvas and create a stylized mountain scape. What were blank walls is now a continuation of the glorious mountain view, converting the whole building into a piece of public art.
