Cheese + Provisions
Denver’s Sunnyside neighborhood is fast becoming a hotbed of artisanal delicacies with the addition of one of Arrow B Architecture’s latest projects: Cheese + Provisions. The fine foods store anchors Cobbler’s Corner – a historic block of neighborhood shops developed by Paul Tamburello and Generator Development. Arrow B worked with owners Kim and Steve Duty to create a warm, welcoming boutique space that reflects their commitment to quality, detail and artisanship.
The space was designed to serve several uses: a showcase for handmade cheeses, charcuterie, and hard-to-find, small-batch provisions, seating for diners sitting down for a quick gourmet lunch, and tables for classes – everything from Cheese 101 to pairings with champagne and wine. (A dedicated evening of “field research” by Arrow B staff confirms Cheese + Provisions’ expertise in pairing local craft beers and artisanal cheeses from around the world (the Reypenaer VSOP Gouda, a cow’s milk cheese from Holland and the Joyeux Noel Biere de Garde from Diebolt Brewing was particularly enchanting.)
The journey into artisanal cheese is enhanced through bold graphics, signage and branding designed by Can of Creative. Custom furniture maker bDagitz Furniture built the wood-and-metal shelving that adorns the walls of the shop, providing rustic-yet-elegant display space for the carefully curated provisions that give the store its name.
